미주 최초의 한인 이민사 박물관, 목화가 건립되어 한인으로서 참으로 자랑스럽습니다.
박물관 건립은 우리 1세들이 후세들에게 해주어야 할 마지막 임무라고 믿습니다.
이제 목화가 미주 최초 뿐 아니라 미구 최고의 박물관으로서 발전해 나가도록, 그래서 우리 후세들에게 뿌리교육 시키고, 그들에게 한국인임을 자랑스럽게 자긍심을 불러 일으킬 수 있는 훌륭한 공간이 되도록 우리 모두 함께 노력해 나가야 할 것입니다.
이제 100년 200년, 500년후 후세들에게 우리가 살아온 이야기를 전하고, 소통 할 수 있는 공간이 마련되어 그 감회가 참으로 깊고, 미주한인이민사 박물관이 뉴욕에 세워지기까지 물심양면으로 도움주신 동포 여러분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다.
As the first Korean American immigrant heritage Foundation was established in the US, MOKAH (Museum of Korean American Heritage), I am very proud as a Korean.
I believe that building a museum is the last task that our first generations should do for their future generations.
Now, so that MOKAH can develop not only as the first museum in the Americas, but also as the best museum in the future, we must all work together that MOKAH become a great space where we can proudly arouse and educate our future generations the pride of being Korean.
Now, 100 years, 200 years, 500 years later, MOKAH will be a space where we can tell the story of our lives and communicate with the future generations. I sincerely thank all of our compatriots who helped us in both ways until MOKAH was established in New York. Thank you very much.
